Theeey're baaack!
I didn't mention it before, but a couple of bloggers have returned after prolonged absences.
For
Doc Rampage, the absence was just Christmas break, but it did go on for a while. He's busy
complaining about it now.
And Ben Schumacher is blogging again at
Zeroth Order Approximation. He's been gone since October--I'm glad to see him return. He's been writing some good stuff since he came back.
Light blogging...
Not much blogging right now. I'd love to say it's because I'm working on getting stuff published, and there's some of that too, but mostly I've just been playing with my iPod. I put a few of my favorite CDs on it. I wanted to use shuffle, but that shuffles in the files I had ripped from an Audio CD too, and I don't exactly want that mixed in with my music, much less out of order. A bit of experimenting, and I realized that the only thing that separates a file which the iPod treats as a song and a file it treats as an Audiobook is the extension--just run "ren *.m4a *.m4b" in the correct directory and the problem's fixed. But oddly enough, there's no way to rip CDs and automatically give them the extension *.m4b. It's annoying, especially considering that I prefer to keep my files in MP3 format, which I can't do here. Well, at least I figured it out.
